As I was going through my twitter this morning, I noticed that Wojo recently followed him. Pretty sure this could be a possible transfer considering this was announced barely a day ago.

Eligible to play right away due to the coaching change at Wake? Is that actually a rule, or am I just making that up?
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Not automatically. But he could apply for a waiver. Coach getting fired is a pretty widely accepted reason for being approved.

Undersized forward?  At 6'6", he may just end up being our starting center!

Maybe I missed something. Are you suggesting this team couldn't use a forward? You ready to roll into the season with Taylor as the only front court player in October/November?? I think Gardner measured in at 6'7 at portsmouth. I'm thinking Villanova with Cunningham type team, with less talented players of course.

Gardner's sheer width gives him an advantage that allows him to create separation.  Being 6'7" with a huge frame is similar to being 6'10".   A 6'6" forward isn't the answer.  We're going to be slaughtered on the boards next year.  We need 6'8" +.

As far as the Villanova comparison goes, the guard play and lack of 3 pt shooting won't have us in the same realm as Nova.  There's no way we'll be able to play that style of basketball.  MU is going to have to drive to the hoop and score a lot of points at the foul line to be successful.

Really? I can't recall a single instance where someone has received a waiver just because the coach was fired.

Trey Ziegler from Central Michigan to Pitt.

Of course, his dad was fired as the CMU coach.  Still, shows that the NCAA can grant it if they want.  Weren't some of the Baylor players allowed to transfer in the wake of the Dave Bliss mess?

A Japanese Muslim? Good for MU's Diversity program. Reel him in Wojo.
