Garrett Swanson was an example of a warm body--that is all a warm body.

I think that's a lot of those "preferred walk ons" David singleton is another example.  They are a step above rob frozena level and I'm sure somewhat beneficial to have in practice but overall just a warm body

That's my point--Frozena>no body.

I'd personally be thrilled with one or two bodies to wear themselves out in practice so they can say they played at MU.  But outside of a handful of guys already at MU who played in HS I don't see that happening from any transfers and I don't think Wojo is interested in devoting time and resources toward having a body but I think he'd accept one if they wanted to come.

You said you would be "thrilled."  I would not be.  He wouldn't play even with a Fischer injury.

We have our graduate transfer, Mr. Carlino. I think Coach Wojo will have his hands full making sure that Carlino plays within a team concept.  So since no one else has surfaced I would prefer to see the roster at its current size. Lets see what happens when our 5 coaches focus on 11 players. Each kid on this team has a chance to play to their best potential that way.

So since Mr. Mayo will be taking his talents to the professional level, I have decided to take another look at this list. I don't think we will be adding any graduate transfers. We will probably operating a man down. But just in case we wanted to bring someone in who could play right away, here are our options.

Let's look at the list as it was at our last update.

1. Taran Brown (UC Santa Barbara) 6-8 190 PF, 7.2 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 1.5 apg, 0.5 spg, 0.8 bpg, .314 3P
2. Deville Smith (UNLV) 6-0 175 PG, 9.7 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 2.7 apg, 1.0 spg, .338 3P
3. Nick Zeisloft (Illinois State) 6-4 185 SG, 6.9 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 0.9 apg, 0.6 spg, .355 3P Committed to Indiana
4. Anthony McDonald (Mississippi Valley State) 6-1 180 SG 11.9 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 1.4 apg, 0.8 spg, .359 3P Committed to North Carolina Central
5. Dwight Tarwater (Cornell) 6-6 230 SF, 7.1 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.0 apg, 0.3 spg, 0.5 bpg, .319 3P Committed to California
6. Gerald Coleman (Gonzaga) 6-4 170 SG, 6.0 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 0.8 apg, 0.5 spg, .125 3P
7. Sooren Derboghosian (UCLA) 6-10 240 C, 0.5 ppg, 0.3 rpg, 0.3 ag, 0.3 bpg, .000 3P Committed to Drexel

A lot of the talent came off the board. Tanned Tommy picked up a solid contributor in Nick Zeisloft. Sharpshooting Anthony McDonald is joining the NCCU Fighting Jamal Fergusons. Tarwater is heading to Berkeley (maybe we should have hired Cuonzo) And former UCLA big man Debbroghosian will get a chance to get off the bench at Drexel.

With no additional quality graduate transfers becoming available, the new list is short, but there is some solid talent.

Plus Gabe Levin and Wally Ellenson will be practicing as well.  Practice bodies will not be an issue.

This needs to be checked further, but I think Taran Brown actually has 2 more years  to complete two years of eligibility.

Aaron Brown is on the market now and will be eligible immediately.
6-5 swingman that average 9.9 points and 4.3 rebounds last year. Also, was 39.1% from behind the arc.
Visited BC a couple days ago. Marquette and LSU have recently called.

From Southern Miss.  Only played one year there after transferring from Temple where he was OK as a frosh and sophomore.  In looking at their message boards, some think he didn't really mesh well with the new staff.  He is from the northeast, which explains both BC and RI.

Not sure how serious the interest is by Marquette, but if the staff wants him, I am all for it.

One schollie open for 14-15.    A 6'5 one-year rental wouldn't be bad.   He can back up the post.

Noted, I think he is deserving of the title of most desirable graduate transfer at this point.

1. Aaron Brown (Southern Miss) 6-5 210 SF, 10.0 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.3 apg, 0.7 spg, .380 3P

In 2 years he has shot 42 and 39 percent from deep on 2 attempts per game. Outside shooting would be welcome.
