Per Mark Miller, Coach K will be in this week to see Henry Ellenson.  Do we still/even have a shot at him?

It is the best thing possible, if he decides he does not want to go to Duke, you think he would not put in a good word for Wojo?

Its business.  I would hope Wojo would do the same to Coach K.

I saw him play earlier in the year against Stone and thought he got the better of him. Big upside.

Saw that game as well.  they really did not match up much in that game.  Ellenson was shooting a lot of threes and getting transition dunks, while Stone dominated inside on offense.  Difference in game were the guards.

i think the closer reality is that if duke decides they don't want him, they might say MU is a really good option.  other than MU being able to sell itself as closer to home...there's not much to sell that isn't going to be topped by duke with the coaching tree that we have.

I am sure Coach K would personally go all the way to Rice Lake to tell him to go to Marquette.   He surely does not have anything better to be doing with his time.

Duke and UNC have to decide if they want him . He will likely pursue all the top schools to see what their interest is. If there is no traction he will pick amongst the lesser schools that have shown interest . If it gets to that point and he seeks a reference on Wojo he will get a positive one from K

There is a place in Rice Lake that has really great lefkes. It could be that this trip has nothing to do with Ellenson and that K just wants to check out the Norske Nook.

The Norske Nook is well above average. Based out of a little town along the Interstate just south of
Eau Claire. Superb pies, and a pretty good menu other than that.

Think Ellenson could really blossom at the next level. Don't think he gets a ton of coaching in HS.

Those gals got some great pies.  2013 pie of the year.

Osseo, Rice Lake, and Hayward.

I like our odds better with Ellenson with Wojo as our coach. I also like the Ellenson and Noskowiak seem to play very well together on their AAU team, especially since Noskowiak put us back at the top of his list.

While living in Asia we owned a lake house north of Spooner on the St. Croix - my wife from Thiensville's idea - and there was a Norske Nook there. I would head over to the Nook some mornings to plow through the Pioneer Press and Tribune over coffee.

Spooner is a Swedish town while Hayward is Norwegian (or vice versa) and I overheard these old Spooner guys talking about the Anderson kid dating a Norwegian girl from Hayward. It was as if he was soiling his family's reputation.

But you're right about the pies at the Nook. They looked incredible during the dinner shift. The morning pies were older and likely a bit stale with a much higher fat content.

Drag's Pizza is the place to go in Rice Lake.

Speaking of Ellenson I never liked him much. I'm not qualified but he thinks he's a guard when he's not, plays hero ball and hogs it.  Then again he is a highly rated prospect so I wouldn't mind having him. Just never liked his game.

Seems like the dinner shift would generate a bigger tip from their guests, while the morning staff would receive just the tip.

Not sure where you get that Spooner is Norwegian.  Pretty much a mix of many ethnicities from it's railroad days, including a fairly high percentage of Italian and Irish.
