I guess the replacement is coming from outside the program:

Let's hope he brings some of those impressive recruits that the article mentions!  Also, seems like this guy is on the fast track so I wouldn't be surprised if he only lasted a season or two at MU before getting a HC gig somewhere.

But, really, any assistant who leaves must have been run off by Crean....I mean, everyone hates working with him, right?

Oh wait, um....no.

This sounds like a good hire.  I like the move.

When I read the name Buzz, I assumed he was about 60 years old.

Buth he's only 34.  Heck, he's younger than me.

Buzz Lightyear

Reminds me of the time "Ali G" interviewed Buzz Aldrin and called him Buzz Lightyear.  A classic interview.

Another classic Ali G (Borat) interview with NBA stars including D Wade.

The fact that Gillespie got in touch with him shows that Buzz at least has some cred.

I think the days of the long term assistant coach are coming to an end. Of course, this is due to the frequent shifting of head coaches and the aging, established ones.

It seems that MU is known to be a "touch-and-go" haven for former head coaches or aspiring assistants. I do not know if that's a good thing as transitions and program/coaching ideologies take time to settle. But that's the culture Crean has set: he wants to continue the Izzo tradition and create his own legacy of creating head coaches.

If anything, that Rosiak chat shows that good brown-nosing...er ahh, I mean "networking"...can get you far in life.

It's a good hire, I think. But the fawning comments by Buzz are actually pretty funny to read.

I must admit that for me, some of his quotes would fit in the category "Things that make you go, hmmmmm".  Or possibly the "More than I need to know" category.
