I can take a pretty good guess, but his Wikipedia article isn't important enough to list that information. Tom's been known to step on a lot of toes, even within his profession.

He's used that line before. Then he tries to pretend he's an unbiased professional journalist and wonders why Wes blows him off.  He continues to show he's nothing more than a fanboy jock sniffer.

All I know about Tom Oates' background is that I believe he went to Appleton Xavier High School.  Not sure about his college background.

I'll chalk this up under:

A newspaper's primary goal is not to report the news, but to sell ads.

Readership and page views sell ads.

Whatever morality existed in reporting is quickly leaving. Being unbiased and honest isn't really profitable anymore.

Way to go Oates. You got a few more page views. Dynamite work.

DJF is just a kid that follows both these guys on twitter. I also think he prompted a tweet by Marquette athletics about a week ago reminding us that tweeting at recruits is an NCAA violation.
