Sure TC, used tanning beds, gave his kids awards at his own camp, had long ties, yelled obscenities at his staff, cursed at waiters, blah blah blah...

But did he ever take sh*t in a towel, and hand it back to a manager to throw away?

People will believe anything they read! Unfortunately, people also exaggerate a story so people will read it.

I worked with Rick for a full year at Ball State University, and I have known him very well since. He isn't perfect, but this is a bunch of garbage. I actually worked with him at the Cardinal Stritch and Medalist Camps for a couple of years as well. He was there everyday that I worked the camps.

Rick is definitely guilty of eating too much, swears at practice, and is a very intense coach. However, he is as nice as the day is long, and would do anything to help out people in need.

I respect him and would I will always support him 100%.

Amazing that people have to post things like this.

Sorry, but I have heard too many things from too many people to believe that "he is as nice as the day is long."

Long before most cats on this board were born. Rick was a student at MU and I had just graduated from high school. Seriously, it was a factory job and Rick and I worked together all summer. Well, he actually spent more time eating than working. Also, spent a lot of time talking hoops. As time went on, he invited me to his camp at DeSales in the evening. The councelors played pick-up games at night. Saw Doc, Walter Downing, Tatum et al. there.

Everyone has heard stories about Rick Majerus. His propensity for nudity and calling his player's "aunts" has survived long enough that they are both accepted facts of playing for Majerus. A friend of mine used to coach with Majerus. He was always eating, drawing up scouts in front of the team in the nude, making vulgar comments, and treating the managers like crap. Until a few months ago, my friend had been saving the best incident yet.

We were playing pickup and one of Majerus's ex-players was there. My friend called him over and told him to tell me the worst thing he had ever witnessed Majerus do. I could sense by both of their crap-eating grins that they both knew what story I was in for. It went like this:

"Rick was always a jerk to the managers. Every season he went out of his ways to never learn their names. They were only referred to as ‘manager'. One day, Rick was drawing up a scout in our team room about 2 hours before tipoff. Things were going well, considering he was fully dressed and we hadn't been referred to as aunts yet. From the white board he started yelling 'manager, manager, bring a towel over here!'.

"Not knowing what to expect, we sat back eagerly awaiting his next move. What happened next still haunts me to this day. Majerus took the towel, pulled his pants down, and quickly took a dump into the towel, which he was holding under his ass. After he was done he used part of the towel to wipe, wrapped it up, and HANDED IT BACK TO THE MANAGER, and told him to throw it away. The kid looked like a deer in giant Rick Majerus headlights. The whole room was silent. Rick just pulled his pants up and went back to the scout, never once mentioning it or acting like anything out of the ordinary had occurred."

This may seem shocking, impossible, or something made up. I have now heard multiple confirmations of this story as it apparently is openly passed down from generation to generation of Majerus players. Imagine what else he's capable of having done over the past 20 years!

I don't buy the story. Plenty of Rick things I know as factual and this one I think is long shot. Will add aside from his quirks he has heart as big as anyone I have ever met. In times of trouble he has helped countless friends and former players. No doubt an eccentric but tha only tells part of the story.
