Finally embracing the baby blue jerseys. Hopefully they'll be used more often this season and here on out.

I didn't realize that Jamil could be in the team photo...he's wearing "0"

Crowder is a little more slight than I thought he would be.

The "Marquette" across the chest is in different font and not arced as on the other jerseys. I'm not sure what is opposite the Jumpman logo. After a google image search from last season there didn't appear to be anything on the chest beside "AL"

Wasn't there a comment a month or so ago that spoke of a new uniform design? I haven't seen anything to support such a claim.

Knew a guy who was a manager back in the 70's.  Team photo would be players, Al, Hank & two managers.  When they added Rick it was a huge luxury.

I was surprised at how big/strong Crowder is. It shows he's far more physically mature than guys straight from high school. Talked to him a bit after Madness. He seemed real happy to be here and couldn't have been nicer.

Jamil can do everything, but play.

The camera must have subtracted 20 lbs from Crowder, because I was sitting in the front row tonight and he is a BEAST.  I'm glad he's on our side.

Ditto; Sultan, slight compared to what? Crowder (aka 'Chowda' as we kept mis-saying his name on Friday) seems larger than anyone else on the team as far as I can tell.

Junior's got the typical "Junior Cadougan" look going.

I like that I had to hunt for Buzz. He looks like he's an assistant scout in this pic.

Jhags, I just found Canadian's comments kind of funny.  As someone that helped determine what went on the covers of these things in a former life...well, a lot depends on what you have coming back, who you want to market, what your message for the season is that year, etc.  Just as in the examples I've illustrated, some years the coach doesn't even make the cover and some years he is the central part of the cover.

I do agree with that you're getting at, Chicos.

But 09-10 was Buzz's first season as the head coach....enough reason for him to be on the cover.

I don't necessarily see him reappearing on the cover for a long time now.

Unless we don't have any other returning players to be excited about.....

And the way he's recruiting...I don't see him reappearing on the cover for a long time.
The "average fan" is an idiot.

Does the head basketball coach even decide who is on the cover?  I dislike Crean as much as the next guy but I really don't think he makes IU or MU put himself on the cover of the media guide.

Yea, but Crean is still a tanned a-hole. Therefore, I blame him for the covers I don't like.

Here's another example: Crean dressed up as Vanilla Ice for midnight madness. What a self-promoting douche.

Wait, that's Bill Self. Crap. Well, I still think Crean is a douche and MU should still be the Warriors!

It probably depends on the school.  I can practically guarantee no media guide goes out the door without the coach approving it, whether that's soccer, men's basketball, etc.

Some of the coaches I worked with wanted to see layouts of 4 or 5 options from the SID.  Others would get involved from the start in assisting with design ideas.  Really depends on what the program wants to do, what they are highlighting, etc.  I'm sure some of you remember the old KO cover with the guys wearing hard hats with shovels.  That was clearly to convey a meaning.   Other covers are more to honor tradition, honor certain players, etc.

I just found CD's claims typically bias and it was easy to prove so with past covers of the same coach as well as the current coach.

Considering that "Gold" was Crean's idea, I'm going to go out on a limb and say he is VERY involved in deciding who is on the cover.

Except for the 2 years shown above where he wasn't on the cover.

Clearly somebody else in the athletic department slipped those past him when he was at the beauty salon getting his caveman haircut. No way he would let them print a media guide without his stupid face on it. I heard they even had to photoshop his ties to make them shorter because the guy is a f-ing idiot who can't tie a tie.

Oh, and he's too tan.
