Soft bubble poll
« on: February 24, 2010, 08:48:56 AM »
I think the other board has fallen into a really interesting debate when it has avoided ad hominem attacks, and its a topic I love debating.  Plus, it makes us look like a really well informed college basketball audience to debate these abstract topics  :D

Plus, I'm just curious who out there thinks the soft bubble is a phenomenon that can be studied with any sort of accuracy or legitimacy and who thinks its totally contrived.

Chicos just wants to justify why Brent Williams is having an ok year this year.  Marquette isn't that good its just that other teams clearly suck(since none of you are smart enough to figure this out).  Since everybody else sucks and MU is tournament caliber you then change the topic and bring up this 'Soft Bubble' garbage.  Furthermore, if MU doesn't make the tournament he will bring up the 'soft bubble' and talk about how the team underachieved and Williams is clearly over his head.

I also like how he brings up history since history is great guide when your talking about empiricism.  Lets talk about the past and some useless statistics and say it means something.

Since your points are stupid you need to bring this up in order to change the topic!

The idea of the soft bubble should be reversed...there aren't as many great teams in college basketball this year, so there is more room for teams without great resumes to make the tournament.  The top is soft, not the bottom; so it is harder to figure out who really deserves to be in...there are more spots.  Does that make it less of an accomplishment to make the NCAA's?  I don't think so.

More like it's a larger bubble this year.  Usually there are 2 or 3 teams that seem like they get screwed.  This year there could be 5 or 6 teams in that boat.

this soft bubble thing is truly the dumbest thing i have eve heard of ever year there are teams that sit on the bubble.  those teams fall into the rpi range of typically 40-70 ...there are not more or less teams on the bubbe this year or any other year.  First of all this all comes from chicos who will do absolutely everyhting in his pathetic life to  discredit any Mu accomplisment under Buzz.  You see if Buzz does well it makes Creans accomplishments look less Hurculean and we all know what Crean did for Mu no one else could have done.  Secondly Chicos is getting this soft bubble info from Jerry Palm  the clown of clowns when it comes to Brachetology.  He is lambasted by the other braket guys for how bad he is ...read todays edition of Bracketotlogy 101  anyone that still has Charlotte in is lost.   Soft is the word to describe Chicos pants as he realizes Crean was merely ordinary. HE is realizing here and in Bloomington.

Can I have Joe Lunardi, Jerry Palm, Ken Pomeroy, Jay Bilas, etc, etc vote as well?  I promise they won't "belittle" our coach even if they vote soft bubble like they've been stating on air and in their articles.
