Good question.  I was more curious to read how he was fired from his previous job because he suspended his players after they were drinking as minors.  How does a coach get fired for that?  Don't we want role models like that?   Weird.

Poorly coached team, and Tokoto doesn't get as much touches as he should.

Selective enforcement... He suspended role players but did not suspend a star player for the same offense. The parents of the suspended players complained and Seibert was ultimately fired.

Ah...that makes sense then.  Thanks for the details.

Well you've certainly advanced the conversation.  Since you seem to be in the know, could you explain why M.Falls struggled this year with one of the state's best players?

Just heard on Fall's Scout board that Buzz is likely their top choice. Fans over there don't believe his buyout really is 3.8M

Buzz has always wanted to move to the Falls.  He's become tired of the weather in the Quon.

Wrong and wrong.

All signs point to him being a terrible coach.

I know nothing about Seibert but if JPT is as good as advertised, there's no reason that team should finish below .500 in a state like Wisconsin...unless JPT packed it in knowing he was headed to a big time school regardless.

Would you be saying the same thing if he had verballed to MU?

Ari,
You are plugged into the 'Falls...what's the word on Pilgrim Road?

I watched Falls twice this year.

JP has practically no perimeter game at this time, but knows he needs to develop that part of his game.   (It really is pretty weak, Harrison Barnes he is not)  Coach Seibert could put JP in the post and he would dominate because he is SO athletic, but that does not facilitate his long term potential.

The team is sacrificed because JP needs to develop a perimeter game.

They actually had a decent (not great) surrounding cast (a couple of small guards and a couple of inside bangers)

My guess is that the coaching change is facilitated by the AD, who has Trevor Trimble in his ear.

On WSSP yesterday afternoon, they were talking about how JP's parents wanted Seibert to play JP all four quarters of a non-con game or a "showcase game" (not sure who the opponent was) and to have him sit the next two games entirely-which happened to be conference games (one of which was a key game against Marquette High).

He heard they have a pretty consistently successful women's gymnastics team and a great meteorology program.  Thats what really sold him.

Unfortunate that coach has stepped down and getting some heat. Obviously Roy William laid down the law and wants to see more out of J.P. next year. I was at his presser and you could tell that he ZERO interest in changing schools. His old man talked about him possibly leaving but J.P.'s body language told different story.

The kid is great player and person. Never know what can happen a year from now. I hope he does what he wants to do for college and has great career. As MU fan I am holding out hope that he might find his way to MU before he is done.

Ari,
You are plugged into the 'Falls...what's the word on Pilgrim Road?

I'll talk to my family friends that are even more plugged in, but there were many people calling for this.
First off - the comments on this board are infinitely better than the JS comments. The JS comments seem to think than an "NBA caliber player is dictating his HS team". I don't thank is the case. However if may be a last ditch effort by MFHS athletic Director to keep JP for another year.

Expectations for a team that has this level of a player are much higher than an 11-12 and a first round bounce out. A player at Tokoto's caliber should be able to basically carry that team to a point.

The word I've got is that the coach was actively holding JP back. this coach benched JP for a half when Bo came to see him for a minor team violation. I usually am a stickler for rules -esp at the HS level where the most bullcrap excuses let kids off the hook for just about anything- but when you have a player of JP's caliber I feel like the coach should be doing everything in their power to help jp out as much as possible. I mean bo didn't go to MFHS to watch JP sit on the bench. There are more of these events but it seems like Siebert

Also there are issues beyond JP. Siebert got into a 'legit fight" with a family of a player (not JP) on the team (not sure if that means physical or verbal) and really upset other families. However JP's family is catching some flack for talking about Siebert's firing

First, you explain why they went 27-3 last year with him? Anything change? I'm biased as I graduated last year and had senior friends on the team, but still. One man show the whole way this year.

I heard that term in the campy documentary of the Falls tall skinny guy Mike Borchart (?) trying to make a horror flick...Great american movie...?? cant recall its name--but he referred to his town as No Money Falls

Lots of local scenes to the falls tho.

No money falls -actually a spelling thing for people on the phone. "Me-No-Money -with two ee's Falls". Helped people on the other ends spell. Has nothing to do with the money people here spend

What  kids know about town names, they get from the movies/TV....So they guess that:

1)MF: the name of the __________________falls comes from an Indian who had no funds.... Me No Money...

2) Milwaukee:

Alice Cooper: Well, I'm a regular visitor here, but Milwaukee has certainly had its share of visitors. The French missionaries and explorers began visiting here in the late 16th century.
Pete: Hey, isn't "Milwaukee" an Indian name?
Alice Cooper: Yes, Pete, it is. In fact , it's pronounced "mill-e-wah-que" which is Algonquin for "the good land."

3) F troop :

*Hekawi"  tribe name came when  the tribe became lost, exclaiming "Where the heck are we?", which then became "We're the Hekawi"

The original tribal name was  'Fugawi', but was changed before airing after the censors discovered script read  "Where the Fugawi?"

and
4) Grumpier old men:

Grandpa Gustafson: I have been to Hawaii.
Mama Ragetti: Oh yeah? Which island?
Grandpa Gustafson: Come-on-I-wanna-lay-ya.
Mama Ragetti: I find you disgusting.
Grandpa Gustafson: Well, just as long as you find me.
